The town's rich history appears to be a major source of inspiration for art and culture. This is revealed by, for example, the Hannemahuis museum, a magnificent mansion that was lived in by the Hannema family for more than 200 years. These days, visitors can admire the wide range of silver and porcelain on display in the various period rooms.
